hlavní nádrazí, (the main train station) and Praha Holesovice, 2 km north. Most international trains arrive at Praha
Hlavní nádrazí (Open 03:00 - 01:00) The
two-level train station hall is set below the
highway. Tourist Information: There is a tourist
office in the centre of the lower level hall.
Open 09:00 - 19:00, Sat, Sun 09:00 - 16:00.
Changing currency: There are numerous currency
exchanges in the train station but rates are
not the best; just change that essential minimum.
There is an ATM inside the train information
office on the far left side of the lower level
hall when coming from the tracks. To call home,
buy a phone card at the Tabák (news stand). Getting to town: you are pretty much in the centre of town. There are taxi ranks on either side of the upper hall. However, it is much cheaper to take the metro. The Hlavní nádrazí metro station is just below the main hall, from where it is one stop to the Muzeum metro stop in the centre of town. For those who want to walk, turn left after leaving the main hall and go straight along Washingtonova until you reach the top of Wenceslas Square (Václavské námestí). Praha Holesovice is three stops from the main train station on metro C (red). On your way out of the station turn left just before the main entrance and take steps down to the metro. To get to the trams walk through the metro station to the other side. To get to Mustek take the metro to Muzeum and then change to line A (Green). Or you can take tram 14 to Wenceslas Square. | AIR TRANSPORT | Prague's airport is in the Ruzyne quarter in north-west Prague, around 20km from Old Town. depart from Námestí Republiky every hour
starting from 06:00 - 21:00. The cost is
90Kc, which includes baggage. Children

to the city centre are provided every half-hour
